Fashion photo shoot with beautiful Steph Wyatt – Miss Dorset 2016 finalist This bank holiday Monday we had the pleasure of working with Miss Dorset 2016 finalist Steph Wyatt. Steph came to RR Photographic’s studio and we took a range of fashion photos in various outfits against white and black backgrounds. Steph came with a selection of fashion looks. She began in an elegant white dress with a stylish black hat. She also had a pretty white Summer dress. Steph had told me before the shoot that she wanted to try to recreate an Indian-style look that she had seen in a photo and on the Friday before the shoot she went and bought some material from a fabric shop. We really enjoy trying something new and creative and we took some interesting shots of Steph in a lilac gown with Russ throwing the chiffon scarf in the background and I photographed as it fell. It was a simple action, but the shots were quite effective and probably my favourite of the day! RR Photographic now has its own small studio for portraiture photography. We have a selection of backdrops to choose from, there is plenty of space for you to change outfits and the studio area is large enough to accommodate 3-4 people. If there are more than 4 people, we have a larger studio not far from us which we can use with advance booking. We have always offered portrait sessions on location, but now we are able to offer studio portraits for those who prefer the classic plain background shot. A black or white background is especially appropriate for corporate or work shots, for example, for your Linkedin profile picture (having a decent profile picture can really improve your chance of getting work or promoting your business). Wedding at Poole Registry Office ❤ with Coral and Emran

Wedding at Poole Registry Office with Coral and Emran Coral and Emran got married on Monday at Poole Registry Office. The marriage itself took place in the small office inside the building and unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos during the ceremony. The best man arrived a little late looking very smart in a blue suit, having got stuck in traffic coming from London. As a consequence of the delay, I got the honour of being one of Coral and Emran’s witnesses together with Coral’s sister. After the ceremony, we went outside and took some photographs in front of the building on the beautiful steps leading up to the main hall. Coral looked lovely in a classic white dress and Emran was wearing a black suit. The pair left the ceremony in a white limousine and we joined them later that evening for their wedding reception. During the two or three hour break between the ceremony and the reception, Coral restyled her hair and when we arrived at the reception she was wearing a vibrant red, blue and purple dress with gold and green jewellery, which she told me had been sent to her from Bangladesh by her […] Read More

The Photography Show 2016 at the N.E.C in Birmingham This weekend, Russ and I went to The Photography Show at the N.E.C in Birmingham. We drove up Friday evening and stayed there overnight so we’d feel fresh and full of energy on the Saturday. Poor old Russ had a bit of a cold…I mean….was dying of man flu! …I can get away with this because he rarely ever reads the blogs I write! 😉  …but like a true soldier, he carried on and we spent the whole of Saturday at the show. There were lots of very interesting presentations from amazing photographers. We spent most of the day at the Canon stage and the Wedding and Portrait stage, but every so often I dashed off to the Adobe Theatre for a presentation on Photoshop or Lightroom. Russ and I were particularly on the hunt for a new wedding album for our clients and The Photography Show is a great place to look at sample albums from lots of top producers. Commercial photography with Ruta at Sprinkles Gelato in Winton Recently, we did a photo shoot at Sprinkles Gelato on Wimborne Road, Winton, Bournemouth, BH9 2EG with pretty blonde Ruta. The weather was cold and wet that week so a location shoot was impossible without getting very uncomfortable, and wet hair and smudged make-up doesn’t make anyone look or feel good in their pictures! Therefore, we decided to go to Sprinkles cafe, as Russ and I are big fans of their icecream and we love the colour, ambience and lighting of the cafe. We met Ruta there quite late in the evening on a Sunday night so that there wouldn’t be too many people there and we wouldn’t disturb them by taking pictures. The staff at Sprinkles were very obliging and allowed us to stay there for an hour taking photos (we asked beforehand as we weren’t sure if they’d allow us to). We did, of course, eat their icecream first!…..it would’ve been rude not to!…well that’s my excuse! Couple portrait photography with Raluca and Joe at Coy Pond: We had the chance to do a wonderful couple portrait photo shoot today with Raluca and Joe at Coy Pond in Bournemouth. For those who don’t know Bournemouth or Poole so well, Coy Pond is a very pretty area with the pond and gardens covering 9 acres of land. As the shoot was taking place in February, the weather was, unfortunately and expectedly, very cold! However, the sun was shining and the place was full of colour. We are so lucky in Bournemouth, Dorset and Hampshire as there are so many places of astonishingly beautiful nature and scenery. At Coy Pond there is also a lot of wildlife. There is one area of Coy Pond with a beautiful red bridge over a small stream and lots of big, bright and colourful trees all around, so we initially headed there with Raluca and Joe for a couple portrait photo shoot with them in casual, warm clothes. We then nipped back so they could get changed into a suit and dress and took a couple of portrait photos indoors.
