Food and drink photography – commercial photographer Bournemouth We recently had the chance to do some commercial food and drinks photography at “Le Bateau” bar & bistro at 141-143 Commercial Road, Poole, BH14 0DJ.  The bar is owned by a good friend of mine, Janice Crump and she wanted some new images of the restaurant food and cocktails for her advertising material and menus. She messaged me last Monday afternoon and that evening we went to Le Bateau and took some pictures. Jan closed the bar for the evening from about 7pm and invited the staff to have dinner and a staff meeting. The chefs made each of the dishes one by one and we got the opportunity to photograph them….the staff then got to eat them! Following that, the attractive bar staff made various, beautiful, bright coloured alcoholic cocktails. Whilst we loved taking the photos, the best part of the evening was definitely getting to eat some of the fantastic Le Bateau food which Jan kindly saved for us! Commercial photography with Ruta at Sprinkles Gelato in Winton Recently, we did a photo shoot at Sprinkles Gelato on Wimborne Road, Winton, Bournemouth, BH9 2EG with pretty blonde Ruta. The weather was cold and wet that week so a location shoot was impossible without getting very uncomfortable, and wet hair and smudged make-up doesn’t make anyone look or feel good in their pictures! Therefore, we decided to go to Sprinkles cafe, as Russ and I are big fans of their icecream and we love the colour, ambience and lighting of the cafe. We met Ruta there quite late in the evening on a Sunday night so that there wouldn’t be too many people there and we wouldn’t disturb them by taking pictures. The staff at Sprinkles were very obliging and allowed us to stay there for an hour taking photos (we asked beforehand as we weren’t sure if they’d allow us to). We did, of course, eat their icecream first!…..it would’ve been rude not to!…well that’s my excuse!
